Intensive Chemical Dependency Evaluation

A Full, Professional Addiction Assessment

ARRNO’s Intensive Chemical Dependency Evaluation (ICDE) is a five-day evaluation process designed to provide an individual with a structured, intensive, criteria-based evaluation for the disease of chemical dependency. A formal evaluation report is then sent to any relevant licensing board, including those for nurses, pharmacists and physicians.

The evaluation determines:

  • If the patient demonstrates the signs and symptoms of abuse or dependency.

  • If there is the presence of a co-morbid psychiatric illness.

  • The extent to which a patient is living outside of his or her value systems.

  • If there are any emotional or trauma issues that may hinder treatment and/or recovery.

  • If there are any medical conditions that would affect the course of treatment.

  • The level of treatment that would be most beneficial for the patient.

Program Content: The patient lives in Addiction Recovery Resources’ recovering community and receives therapeutic interventions that will allow the Medical Director to determine the nature of the disease and the correct treatment recommendation.

Interventions:

  • Thorough health history and systems review, including complete lab screening and urine drug screen.

  • Psychiatric Evaluation and diagnosis by a qualified physician.

  • Substance Abuse Evaluation by a Master’s level psychotherapist, including Addiction Severity Index (ASI) and Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI).

  • Direct observation of the patient in a treatment environment.

  • Individual session with a Master’s level psychotherapist to identify possibility of significant trauma issues that may have a bearing on treatment.

ICDE Lite:  In the event that the residential component is not required, a determination of patient needs will be assessed using both testing instruments and impressions in the interview process.
